Psalm 118:14 “The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.” The Lord is the center of your and my life. If we think fun or eating well or finances or anything other than God is the center of life we are desperately mistaken. Obviously, none of us wants to be desperate and there is no need to be such. Be blessed and live joyfully.

Psalm 118:9 “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.” Where do I find my security? Where do you find your security? And when one finds security are they weaker or stronger in that security? Is security found in anything on this earth? Absolutely not as earthly security can disappear in an instant. Health and wealth are gifts but nor sources of security. There is only One refuge or place of security and that One is our Savior. With that refuge or security, one has ultimate strength—far from weakness. Enjoy being blessed. Have a great weekend.

Psalm 118:8 “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans.” Our minds seem to compare God to humans. There is no comparison of anything including wealth, abilities, emotions, intelligence, anything tangible or intangible and our Psalmist especially identifies trust. Trust is everything. With trust comes the joy of contentedness, peace, understanding and a life which only comes with a loving relationship with the One True God. Trust is the biggest word in any language. Far bigger than supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (I went to spell check). We thank our God for the TOTAL trust we can WONDERFULLY place in Him like nothing and no one else.

Psalm 118:4 “Let those who fear the Lord say: ‘His love endures forever.'” Our Psalmist constantly is expressing the ultra-importance of God’s love for each of us. You and I will not understand the value of that love until we enter Heaven. On this earth we have too many distractions and we are incapable of understanding the love of God. We don’t comprehend what the love of God is. Our human nature is always interfering. How can imperfection understand perfection? All we can say is–it is wonderful to be loved by our God–we say– thank you with our whole heart.

Psalm 118:1 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” Some have the mentality–if God is good, why suffering? Some gave the mentality–since God is good, our suffering has a purpose. Our Psalmist’s mentality–Thank God-God is good-His love is eternal. God’s mentality–I love you and will love you forever. Reread the passage again and come to your conclusion. Why not conclude–Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.
