Martha’s faith

John 11:27 “‘Yes, Lord,’ she replied,’ I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”‘ We often criticize Martha and mistakenly forget her tremendous faith.  This sentence Martha spoke and was recorded by John guarantees we will see Martha in Heaven.  You and I would answer the question of our Savior identical to Martha’s answer.  Everyone on earth who answers Jesus as Martha did will definitely enjoy eternity with each other in an environment which will be our gorgeous eternal Home.

The truth

John 11:25 “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life.  The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.  Do you believe this?'” Jesus was talking with a dear friend, Martha.  He could have been talking to you.  As a matter of fact, He was talking to you.   He asks you and me the same question.  Martha’s answer was —YES.  That is the same answer you and I would give our Savior!  Reread the verse—it is ultra-important to life and eternal life!

What was Jesus really saying?

John 11:10 “It is when a person walks at night that they stumble, for they have no light.” Darkness and lacking truth are identical.  When Jesus said these words, He was referring to the sad truth that even though truth is available to all, many choose to ignore that truth or light and force themselves to stumble and ignore the absolute truth of His Word.  All you and I have to do is pick up the Bible, read it, study it and believe its truths and we naturally see.  Why walk in darkness when light is so easily available? Have a great weekend—Merry Christmas-Our Savior has kept His promise!

Why

John 11:4 “When he heard this, Jesus said, ‘This sickness will not end in death.  No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.'” We have all asked ourselves–Why, Why would God allow that to happen in my life?  I prayed–and I prayed hard and often and still God did not answer my prayer the way I asked.  Doesn’t God love me?  What doesn’t God understand?  What don’t I understand?  Have you ever tried to comfort someone who is suffering?  Have you ever had to say to yourself or have had to say to others—I don’t know what God’s purpose is; all I do know is– God is in control and His will be done.  In faith we accept whatever God’s will is–always, faith in our Savior’s love.

Ultimate security

John 10:27-28 “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.  I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.” Are you eager to read your Bible and listen to the teaching and comforting words of our Shepherd?  A definite yes.  Do you believe our Savior gives each of us the gift of eternal life with Him?  A definite yes.  Do you believe the Shepherd will keep you safely within His grasp and sight your entire life?  A definite yes.  Do you believe all your earthly worries are totally unnecessary?  A definite yes.Isn’t it beyond wonderful to be cared for by our Savior Shepherd?  A definite yes.  Christmas is Merry!
