My disciples

John 8:31-32 “…Jesus said, ‘If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'” The value of Jesus’ wo

The Light of life

John 8:12 “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said,’ I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”‘ This verse is the theme of every Christian’s life.  Without faith and without walking with our Savior, a person walks and constantly stumbles.  How can a person see if there is no light?  So many people live with the outward appearance of pleasure, but their eternal future will be the last evidence of their having walked in darkness.  That is a sad truth which time will prove to be correct.  As for you and me, the joy of Christmas is always our celebration.

Rivers of living water

John 7:37-39 “Jesus stood and said in a loud voice,’ Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.  Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.’ By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive.” There are 3 persons in the Trinity-Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  One of them is living within you and me.  If anyone reading this can explain how that truth can physically be explained-please write me back.  That truth though, is similar to the truth that you and I have a soul.  That truth is similar to the truth that there are 3 persons to our God.  That truth is similar to the truth of Christmas.  Faith is a wonderful thing as it recognizes God’s wisdom is far superior to man’s wisdom.  Jesus has spoken.  That is all the proof any faith filled child of His needs.

Being judgmental–right or wrong?

John 7:24 “Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.” Judge what is correct and true by God’s standards and by His determination of truth.  We often hear–don’t be judgmental.  However, God in this passage, tells us to be continually judgmental.  We are instructed to use His standards and then determine what is right or wrong.  This passage consists of our Savior’s words.  The next time a person tells you to not be judgmental, know that as a Christian you are instructed to absolutely be judgmental.

Christmas is quite a Celebration

John 6:68 “Simon Peter answered him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go?  You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”‘ Peter knew and expressed truth.  He knew that only through his Savior could he receive eternal life.  He knew Jesus was and is God.  It did not matter to Peter what the rest of the world thought.  Peter enjoyed having a faith which would gain for himself an eternity of joy living with his Jesus.  Life on this earth could be difficult and at times very sad, but Peter looked forward to eternity.  Don’t you and I find ourselves in the same position as Peter? Have a great weekend.
