What is David saying?

Psalm 33:6 & 9 “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath if his mouth. For he spoke and it came to be; he commanded and it stood firm. David is stating the absolute wonder of Creation.  Our God is far beyond our comprehension.  You and I can do a lot of talking but we can never create out of nothing with words alone.  God did and in the most intricate and varied form.  When we get to heaven, I am positive we will be astonished and marvel at the home He has prepared for each of us.

His abundant love

Psalm 21:5 “The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of His unfailing love.” Every breath you and I take is a gift from God.  Breath is only the beginning of the treasure house of gifts we are freely blessed with.  Every one of us–look around you and see the gifts you have been given.  Riches galore are yours and mine.  God says–enjoy–I love you–how blessed we are!

True and Faithful

Psalm 33:4 “For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.” It is obvious that David loved God and had a relationship with Him which was tight.  David trusted God with all his heart.  He must have written the Psalms because he wanted you and me to feel the same and to enjoy the life one can live only with that tight and loving relationship.

Love and Trust

Psalm 32:10 “Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him.” Trusting in God is the easiest thing a person can possibly do yet many fail.  Why would a person trust in anyone or anything else when the Creator of the Universe has outstretched arms and offers a comfort and peace found nowhere else?  We pray that our human nature never overrides the trust we are guaranteed by our Heavenly Father.  Let us live our lives trusting in Him and Him alone.

You are blessed if…

Psalm 32:2 “Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit.” You have to ask yourself–am I blessed according to what God states in this passage?  Do I have a faith filled heart and enjoy serving my Savior?  Do I read my Bible and believe what it has to say?  Do I recognize I am saved by grace and all my works are as filthy rags in gaining salvation?  Am I blessed and a child of God only because of the redemptive sacrifice of my Savior?  Your answers answer the question–Are you blessed? Have a great weekend.
