II Corinthians 7:1 “Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.” God has made–out of this world–promises to each of us. God could not be more loving to each of us. Our God is beyond wonderful–so much so that our minds cannot comprehend His loving concern for each of us. Each of us knows what I just wrote. Therefore, isn’t it a strong desire on your and my part to show our God our sincere appreciation by living our lives as His dear children?

II Corinthians 6:18 “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” You and I are God’s child. How does that statement affect and effect your life? The truth of the statement has to make each of us marvel–that has to be the affect and the way we act as the result of the statement has to have a tremendous effect on our actions and life. Being God’s child–that is phenomenal!

II Corinthians 6:16b “…For we are the temple of the living God…” What wonder of the world is this passage? God lives within you. That true statement is undoubtedly one of the most controversial statements you will ever hear. But, doubt and controversy are hardly foreign to Christianity. Both the security and responsibility this statement carries with it is huge. It is beyond an honor to have God living within you and me. Realizing this honor we are both humbled and exhilarated. We again thank and praise our Heavenly Father.

II Corinthians 6:14 “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? With whom do you share your active worship of God? Do you go to worship with those who practice Satanic worship? Do you go to those who worship idols of any kind? No, you worship with those who have the same faith and worship the One True God of Heaven and Earth. Do you believe that whoever you hang out with–you become? It is true. The same for encouraging our children. Be “yoked” together with those you are/or want to become.

II Corinthians 6:1 “As God’s fellow workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.” Have you ever received a valuable gift and intentionally trashed it? Of course not! Have you ever loved someone who loved you and bought that loved person an expensive gift and they ignored it and were unappreciative? Of course not! God has given you and me the most valuable gift, bought with the highest price imaginable. Can you and I receive that gift yet ignore the blessings and responsibilities which are ours because of that gift? Of course not! Have a great weekend.

II Corinthians 5:21 “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” To be with God, either on this earth or for all eternity, you and I must be perfect. God knew we could never accomplish perfection by ourselves. Therefore, He sent His Son to take on 100% of our sin and make you and me perfect–or righteous before God. We become the person God intends us to be. That is a miracle. Now, you and I have the responsibility to live that purposeful life God intends.
