God has plans

Psalm 33:11 “But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.” A person has two choices in regard to this passage:  the first choice is to ignore it, while the second choice is to apply it.If you ignore it–just continue with life and grab all the gusto you can.  If you choose to apply it you will live a purposeful life praying that you are filled with doing your Father’s will.  The second will have the meaning your Savior intends.  The second will fil you with meaning for yourself, fellow mankind and service with praise to God.  Enjoy! Have a great weekend.

What is David saying?

Psalm 33:6 & 9 “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath if his mouth. For he spoke and it came to be; he commanded and it stood firm. David is stating the absolute wonder of Creation.  Our God is far beyond our comprehension.  You and I can do a lot of talking but we can never create out of nothing with words alone.  God did and in the most intricate and varied form.  When we get to heaven, I am positive we will be astonished and marvel at the home He has prepared for each of us.

His abundant love

Psalm 21:5 “The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of His unfailing love.” Every breath you and I take is a gift from God.  Breath is only the beginning of the treasure house of gifts we are freely blessed with.  Every one of us–look around you and see the gifts you have been given.  Riches galore are yours and mine.  God says–enjoy–I love you–how blessed we are!

True and Faithful

Psalm 33:4 “For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.” It is obvious that David loved God and had a relationship with Him which was tight.  David trusted God with all his heart.  He must have written the Psalms because he wanted you and me to feel the same and to enjoy the life one can live only with that tight and loving relationship.

Love and Trust

Psalm 32:10 “Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him.” Trusting in God is the easiest thing a person can possibly do yet many fail.  Why would a person trust in anyone or anything else when the Creator of the Universe has outstretched arms and offers a comfort and peace found nowhere else?  We pray that our human nature never overrides the trust we are guaranteed by our Heavenly Father.  Let us live our lives trusting in Him and Him alone.

You are blessed if…

Psalm 32:2 “Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit.” You have to ask yourself–am I blessed according to what God states in this passage?  Do I have a faith filled heart and enjoy serving my Savior?  Do I read my Bible and believe what it has to say?  Do I recognize I am saved by grace and all my works are as filthy rags in gaining salvation?  Am I blessed and a child of God only because of the redemptive sacrifice of my Savior?  Your answers answer the question–Are you blessed? Have a great weekend.

You are blessed

Psalm 32:1 “Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.” Are you living a life of forgiveness?  Definitely!  Are you sinful and have your sins forgiven?  Definitely!  What are the results of living a faith filled life?  The results are living a blessed life on this earth and looking forward to an eternity of blessed wonder in Heaven.  Is this the best life a person can live?  Definitely!  Be blessed!

You changed me

Psalm 30:11-12 “You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.  Lord, my God, I will praise you forever.” What is the greatest relationship one can have?  A loving spouse?  Wonderful, obedient, caring children? Friends one can enjoy partying with?   All of these answers are fine, but none answer the question.  Your Heavenly Father blankets you and me with joy.Nothing is more wonderful.  What a joy it is to be a loved and adopted child of God.  So, the answer to the question??

A heartfelt prayer

Psalm 31:2 “Turn your ear to me, come quickly to my rescue; be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me.” David prayed this prayer because he knew God not only could but also would give him the comfort only God was capable of giving.  No one else could come close to satisfying David’s needs.  The same is true of you and me.  God is your and my refuge, rock and fortress.  Our ultimate strength comes from our Redeemer.  Praise God for His love for each of us.

Praise God

Psalm 30:4 “Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people; praise his holy name.” Can any person who has a relationship with God do anything other than praise and honor Him?  Why He so dearly loves you and me can only be answered with–because He does.  Our life is constantly led with the thought–thank You and praise be to You.

A Psalm of praise

Psalm 29:2 “Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.” We end the week with our hearts and minds giving glory to God.  We spend the weekend with the same thought, and we will begin next week with the same thought.  Is there ever a time when we don’t give glory to God?  There is never a time.  We constantly give praise and honor and glory to our majestic God! Have a great weekend.

Glory to God

Psalm 19:1 ‘Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.” Can you and I do anything other than praise God for His majesty.  What a privilege it is that the Almighty God would even recognize us, much less, love and adopt us as His children and bring us to Himself eternally in Heaven.  We can never thank and praise Him enough!
