Psalm 94:19 “When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.” A natural human trait is anxiety. Anxiety or a feeling of impending doom can wreck a person’s night or day or relationship or any situation where a person’s faith becomes weak–not nonexistent–just weak. God’s love seems to be somewhere but not in the forefront where it really is. No human is exempt. The good or rather great news is the second half of this verse. God’s love never fails and brings you and me comforting joy. You and I are blessed beyond measure.

Psalm 94:14 “For the Lord will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance.” God NEVER breaks His promises and NEVER leaves those He loves. There is nothing and no one more constant and reliable than God. He defines the words CHANGELESS and CONSTANT. When God PROMISES, He DELIVERS. You and I find it difficult to understand all this because you and I are not God and you and I do not have His qualities. Believe Him as a loving child believes a loving parent. We are in GREAT HANDS.

Psalm 93:1 “The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength; indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.” The God you and I worship is like no other god. Our God is not in competition with other gods. You and I confidently place our complete confidence , trust and hope in our God. Fortunately, we have a security which carries us in this life and will bring us into our eternity in Heaven. Unfortunately, that truthful security is unknown by so many.

Psalm 92:5 “How great are your works, Lord, how profound your thoughts!” There is not a word in the English or any other language which encompasses the magnificence and glory of God. The best we can acknowledge are the words of our Psalmist–great! And since God’s words are profound wouldn’t you and I want to study those words so our speech and thinking is profound also? We acknowledge and we constantly learn and follow.

Psalm 91:11 “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” What is the role of angels or what are the roles of angels? We know God created angels to both serve and glorify Him and He created angels to serve you and me. Angels have a much larger role in God’s kingdom than we acknowledge or recognize. Some scholars suggest there are hundreds of millions of angels and how many are your and my guardians? You and I never walk alone. Our Savior is always by our side as well as our heavenly angels. There is so much we will be learning when we enter eternity—we all look forward to our home in Heaven.

Psalm 91:2 “I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'” There is no one you or I can trust more than our God. Every word He says is absolute truth. You and I place our full confidence, our eternity, on His promises. When God writes–I am your refuge and fortress and strength–trust me–we can only thank Him for the loving care He has for us. He has blessed us far beyond what we deserve, and we should show our appreciation by the lives we live.

Psalm 91:1 “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” A shelter is a place of security. To rest is to relax in comfort . A shelter is physical rest while relaxing is mental or emotional rest. Our loving Heavenly Father freely provides both. To live a purposeful life as God intends for each of us is to always be surrounded with the security only He can provide. Live with and enjoy His peace and security.

Psalm 90:12 “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” The older each of us gets the more we realize that life is short and the next generation is who we were with the ability to live with or without wisdom. It is always the older generation’s responsibility to live and teach the wisdom God intends us to have to the younger generation. Let us both live and teach wisdom.

Psalm 90:1-2 “Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world from everlasting to everlasting you are God.” Some concepts are impossible to define. Some truths are impossible to comprehend. Define God and His magnificence. Define God and His power to do all He did in Creation. Define from everlasting. Define to everlasting. We read these words and believe these words, yet even as God fearing Christians we have to admit we don’t understand the magnitude of God. What is beautiful we also find difficult to comprehend is the massive love our God has for each of us. What a wonderful God we cherish.

Psalm 89:34 “I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered.” An absolute truth is God never lies. Whatever God says is IS. This verse refers specifically to David, but it also states a characteristic of God. What does this matter to you and me? The answer couldn’t be more obvious–when God says follow me and be blessed and furthermore you will inherit eternal life–His promise is absolute. Your heart and my heart rejoices. Another reason Easter has such tremendous significance. Another reason to study the Bible. Another reason to love our Savior. Have a great weekend.

Psalm 89:26 “He will call out to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, the Rock of my Savior.” David knew exactly who God is. . Although David was far from being perfect, he knew God is perfect and he needed God for his Earthly and Heavenly survival. You and I are in many ways identical twins with David. Our mentality is identical. The true God is our Father, Rock and Savior. How can we possibly express enough our heartfelt appreciation for our Father’s tremendous love for each of us?

Psalm 89:15 “Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, Lord.” Having a relationship with God is a guarantee of being blessed. Telling others about the true God is not only our responsibility, it is our privilege. Guaranteed success–is there anyone who does not want that? Being blessed–is there anyone who does not want that? Having our Father walk by our side on this earth and inheriting heaven—is there anyone who does not want that? Walk with God–tell others about Him–live the life God expects–Be blessed!
