The Lamb of God

John `1:29 “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said,’Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world!”‘ Innocence saves the guilty because of His great love for the guilty.  This is the most unnatural relationship in existence. What a humbling thought.  And it happened!  Jesus has saved you and me from a purposeless life on earth and has prepared a glorious life for us for all eternity.  How can you and I be anything other than humbly appreciative.

Humility

John 1:27 “He is the one who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.” John recognized his Savior.  John is a phenomenal example for you and me in our recognition of our complete unworthiness yet our recognition of the complete love shown to each of us as being an adopted loved child of God.  We properly hang our heads low in recognition of the might of our God while at the same time proudly have our heads held high having inherited all the treasures given by our loving Father.

Who are you?

John 1:22a “Finally they said,’Who are you?'” John the Baptist was asked this question because people were confused.  Do you confuse people as to who you are?  Is there ever a question as to your relationship with your Heavenly Father?  Do you live a life which tells the world that you are an adopted, loved child of God?  Or do people wonder?  Live so noone wonders!

The unexplainable truth

John 1:18a “Noone has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God…” Do we have to understand for something to be true?  Explain germination.  Explain the perfection of rotation within the universe.  Explain the origin of wind.  Explain the emotion of love.  Explain the comfort and peace of faith.  Explain creation.  The you and I cannot explain list is endless.  The truth is: Jesus is God–His love for you is endless-put your faith in Him-enjoy being His adopted and loved child-you have everything to gain and nothing to lose.   Have a great weekend.

Law and Gospel

John 1:17 “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” You and I have to know our Heavenly Father’s expectations to understand our Savior’s fulfillment of those expectations.  We would all be living a horror story were it not for our Savior.  Instead, we live a glory story only because of our Redeemer.  The law condemns each of us.  We need our Savior and we have Him.  How blessed we are!!

The supreme definition of love

John 1:14a “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us…” For you and me to enjoy being the adopted and loved children of God we needed to be perfect before our Heavenly Father.  We need an Advocate and Savior.  We are incapable of representing ourselves.  God demands perfection.  Our perfection is Jesus.  How blessed we are!!  Enjoy your life both now and eternally.

Just imagine the wonderful truth

John 1:12 “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” With a faith in the One and Only true God you and I enjoy the rights as adopted, loved children of our Heavenly Father. You will hear a lot of sentences today but I can guarantee none will come close to the value of John 1:12.  You and I have a comfort, peace and security found nowhere else!!

The sad truth

John 1:10 “He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.” The Creator of this world is not recognized by the majority of the world.  Wouldn’t you think just the opposite?  How can the created not recognize the Creator?  John recorded this astounding truth.  Fortunately you and I have been blessed with recognizing the truth and are obligated to tell others the truth of creation and its Magnificent Creator.

Light is Great

John 1:5 “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” God knows the importance of light.  Without light there is no life.  Can you and I comprehend that?  Without our Savior there is no life.  With our Savior there is life.  That is a simple absolute truth.  How blessed you and I are that we live in light and have a close wonderful relationship with the Light of the world. Have a great weekend.

Life at its best

John 1:4 “In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind” If we are reading our Bibles and trying to read a chapter a day we can easily miss the tremendous impact of this small sentence.  Even as we study and read now—how can we understand its impact?  Jesus is life.  Jesus is the light of all mankind.  We are all so self centered we can easily forget we are much much better off being Jesus centered.  Thank God for light–What a fabulous blessing!!

An awsome God

John 1:3 “Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” Everything in this world; the universe with its magnificience, the flowers and all plant life with its magnificience, animals on the earth and creatures in the sea with their magnificience and humans with all our intricacies have all been created by the one who loves you and me so much that He humbled Himself, became one of us, cares for each of us and will bring us to Himself in heaven.  What an indescribable Savior.

At the beginning

John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Jesus, the Word, is God.  The Apostle, the Disciple, John, loved Jesus and recognized Jesus’ authority.  The book he wrote is going to express the beauty of John’s and your and my Savior.  He also will express the absolute necessity of recognizing Jesus’ role in our temporal and eternal life.
