Praise Him

Psalm 148:13 “Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.” Praising God is as natural to a faith filled child as natural gets.  You are the faith filled child.  This earth is filled with the majesty of God so how could any of us do otherwise?  Every tree, every flower, every seed as it grows, the entire sky and on and on show the magnificence of our God.   We can only marvel at the wonders of our God and His Creation!

You are one

Psalm 147:11 “the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in His unfailing love.” It is difficult if not impossible to comprehend this passage.  The blessing you and I enjoy as expressed is overwhelming.  The Great God of the Universe delights in you and me!  What can be more fantastic than that?  God’s love is the overwhelming marvel of the world.

He controls all

Psalm 147:7-8 “Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the harp.  He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.” Our God’s magnificence is universal and individual.  The sun, moon, galaxies and stars are under His control.  Yet, the clouds over our heads are His as is the rain which nourishes the foliage we walk on.  How can we do anything other that honor and praise our Majestic God.

The Greatness of God

Psalm 147:4-5 “He determines the number of stars and calls them each by name.  Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.” Man does not know how many stars there are in the Universe.  There seem to be between 400 billion and one billion trillion.  That is a huge variation.  Man simply does not know.  God knows not only the accurate number but has a name for each one.Obviously the difference between God and man is also beyond measure.  And to think—God cares for each of us so much that He sent His Son so each of us could live with Him for all eternity.  There is no greater love! Have a great weekend.

You are blessed

Psalm 146:5-6 “Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them—the Lord, who remains faithful forever.” Jacob lived approximately 4000 years ago.  He worshipped the same God you and I worship.  To repeat, there is no difference between Jacob’s God and our God.  Jacob’s God and our God are not identical twins.  Jacob’s God, David’s God and your and my God, the Creator of the Universe is the same God.  What makes this important?  The truth of our Psalmist applies to you and me: remain faithful and be blessed.  What a fabulous truth!
