Our changeless God

Psalm 22:4 “In you our ancestors put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them.” Trust in God is not the same as–everything will go my way.  Many think God changes with the times and evil happens in the world–like what happened very recently where a solid Christian man died because of his outspoken faith, because God’s trust is not enough.  God dispels such thinking through His servant David.  Trust in God like a small child trusts a loving parent.  You will never go wrong.  Such has been the truth since the beginning of time.

Praise God

Psalm 21:13 “Be exalted in your strength, Lord; we will sing and praise your might.” God is God.  There are many superlative adjectives which a Christian applies to God:  Almighty, Omniscient, All-powerful, Infinite, Gracious, Holy, Omnipotent and many others.  There is no one and nothing which compares.  How can you and I do anything other than praise God.  How can we be anything other than humble in His presence-which is always!  We, along with David, praise our _____________ God. (You fill in the superlative).

Two great thoughts

Psalm 21:6 “Surely you have granted him unended blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence.” David recognized his blessings were from his Almighty God.  In recognizing the Source of all his blessings he could only welcome the joy he also lived with.  You and I paddle the same boat.  All that we have is only because of our Father and He is the Source of our joy.  Our response for blessings is joy just as our response for His loving grace can only in return be to live a life He would have us live.

Trust

Psalm 20:7 “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” You and I can and do rely completely on the promises of our God.  Both our lives on this earth and our lives eternally have their foundation built on the promises of our Heavenly Father.  Some would say that trust is totally blind void of physical proof.  To a degree they are right.  Faith and trust are both wonderful gifts shared by all Christians who enjoy living always in the security gifted to us by our loving God.  Absolute security is found in that little 5 letter word–Trust.

Necessity of goal setting

Psalm 20:4 “May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.” If you and I have no plans or goals, how can they succeed?  They can’t because they don’t exist.  God is telling each of us to have plans or goals while trusting Him; while realizing He is at the center of our lives; while living our lives to His glory and He will make our dreams come true.  Never be self-centered–be God-centered and watch the blessings flow in your life.  Not as a part of prosperity doctrine but as totally trusting and living as God’s adopted child. Have a great weekend.

Faith=questions answered

Psalm 20:1 ‘”May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.” When you and I live with a faith which is at its strongest we place our lives completely in His hands.  When do we actually practice such a faith?  Maybe 1/2 of 1 percent of the time?  WOW–that is weak. Am I wrong in that conclusion?  Well, I guess you have to answer that question for yourself.  From what I see, all of us could improve.  We have to pray the prayer of this verse so we answer the question with the thought–100% of the time=always!  That is how our loving God would have us think. Pray for such a faith.

A Prayer

Psalm 19:14 “May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” You and I are identical to David.  We pray or converse directly to God in a manner like a loved son or daughter would talk to a loving father or mother.  Parents are certainly where children find stability, love and security.  That foundation is the responsibility of every parent to provide for their children.  That relationship is then wonderfully recognized and applied to our Heavenly Father.

Firm, righteous, precious and sweet

Psalm 19:9b & 10 “The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous.  They are more precious than gold; than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb.” God’s Words are accurate, firm, correct, complete and have a value beyond measure while infused with a love found nowhere else.  With all this being true, wouldn’t you and I enjoy reading His Word and gaining for ourselves truths found in no other source?  How blessed we are!

Silent yet very loud

Psalm 19:4 “Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” How can God’s creation be both silent, yet thunderous?  When you look at the beauty which surpasses one’s imagination of the land and sky and the extreme complexity of nature we have no word superlative enough to define God’s handiwork.  Evolution tries to explain how through billions of years things just happen, but that’s as foolish as foolish gets.  Our magnificent God created a magnificent world.  One’s eyes see His tremendous voice as we view the creation only He could design. Have a great weekend.

The glory of the heavens

Psalm 19:3-4 “Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. they have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them.” Again David expresses the magnificence of our Creator.  No one approaches His glory.  Our God is far beyond our best thinking abilities.  We can look into the heavens and without saying one word God displays His grandeur.  And to think that Almighty God loves ech of us dearly–what a wonderful, marvelous blessing.

Next 3 days verses 1-4

Psalm 19:1 “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies declare the work of his hands.” The marvels of God are displayed every day and night.  A person doesn’t have to look straight ahead to see God’s magnificence, a person can lie down and look up at anytime and become awestruck.  And to think–that Creator loves little you as his dear child so much that He will bring little you to Himself to live in a massive mansion for all eternity.  Better stay close to Him while you fulfill His purpose for little you while creating footsteps on this earth.

Truly Amazing

Psalm 18:46 “The Lord lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior!” Wouldn’t this verse be a great one to wake up and say every morning?
